Namibia 2 Kaokoveld
Giribis Plain & Hoanib Riverbed
This presentation shows the travelling through the Giribis Plain which is a striking, almost vegetation-free plain located in the Kaokoveld, characterized by wide, flat areas that are almost entirely devoid of vegetation. According to local legend, the plain is a mystical place where witches are said to dance at midnight and formed the mysterious fairy circles, bare patches in the grassland. We've enjoyed a nice sunset and a night with at least some stars that had to be seen in the sky.
Next days we've reached the Hoanib-River Bed, which has had water just some days before we arrived. So the Hoanib has quickly developed into a very green River Bed in which we've seen a lot of Elephants, Giraffes, Springboks and Monkeys.
